Donate to the Friends of the Campus Foundation Today to Help UW-Baraboo/Sauk County Students & Programs
Since 1974, the Friends of the Campus foundation has raised funds to provide scholarships for hundreds of students. If you’ve received a scholarship from UW-BSC, the Friends probably helped make it possible. Our group meets every other month and holds one or two fundraising events each year. If you are interested in serving on the Board, please contact us. We are always looking for dedicated, enthusiastic people. Please look at the links to the right for our bylaws and board member expectations.
The Spirit of Excellence Annual Campaign is now underway - please give online (donate button to the right) or through the mail. Donations help support scholarships and other programs at UW-BSC. Mail to Friends of the Campus Foundation 1006 Connie Road Baraboo, WI 53913.

Grape & Gourmet Gala 2012 Recap
The 11th annual Grape & Gourmet Gala was hosted by the Friends of the Campus Foundation to benefit the UW-Baraboo/Sauk County campus on Thursday, May 3 at 6:15 p.m. at the Chula Vista Resort – Kaminski Bros. Chop House. Guests enjoyed a four course dinner from ceviche to tiramisu with paired wines and champagne.
Foundation board president Mark Paschen lauds the event with, "This is probably the most fun you'll have in an elegant setting, while getting the satisfaction of contributing to a worthwhile cause." Fellow board member Tim Teelin bolsters this with, "For years the gala has been a social highlight combining superb food and wine offered by the finest restaurants in the area to create an atmosphere of camaraderie and giving to UW Baraboo/Sauk County."
The elegant evening of wining and dining also included entertainment by a combo led by alumni performers Jack and Dennis Harkins, with a silent and live auction. On the block for the live auction were a variety of items, from sets of passes for 2 tickets each to the Rod Stewart/Stevie Nicks concert and hotel rooms in Milwaukee, to 2 Green Bay Packer tickets with limo travel and boxed lunch from the Garden Party Café.

Funds raised go toward scholarships and programs that benefit the high quality public liberal arts education offered by UW-BSC. The freshman-sophomore campus of the UW Colleges and the University of Wisconsin System provides small class sizes taught by professors with the highest degrees in their fields, undergraduate research and scholarship opportunities, and an active extra-curricular student life with many leadership roles. Students may begin virtually any major offered in the UW System and there are now a number of collaborative baccalaureate and graduate degree completion programs available at UW-BSC. Alumni have gone on to become successful leaders in their communities, all with the help of the foundation’s support of their first years of higher education.
Century Club
When it comes to supporting scholarships, fundraising events aren’t always enough. For this reason, the Friends developed the Century Club Partners Endowment Fund. The total endowment for this fund is now more than $160,000. The capital for the fund remains intact and the interest is used to fund new and existing scholarships.
Each fall, the Friends hold a solicitation for Century Club membership. For just $100, you too can become a member. As a special benefit, a contribution of $350 or more to the Century Club enables you and a guest to enjoy a one-year access pass to the state-of-the-art campus athletic facilities, including racquetball courts, weight room, and fitness center.
It’s a great way to contribute to scholarships and to stay in shape at the same time. Please consider becoming a Century Club Partner at this level. Some or all of your contribution is tax deductible, and your money goes directly toward scholarships or improving campus athletic equipment. If you are interested, call Athletic Director Matt Fencl at (608) 355-5247 to arrange a tour of the outstanding facilities.
Alumni Scholarships
Last year, the Friends funded more than $20,000 in scholarships. We’d like to help even more students reach their educational goals and give our alumni an opportunity to participate, so we’ve been considering two new scholarships:
- A General Alumni Scholarship, funded by alumni donations
- A Named Alumni Scholarship, funded by an individual (minimum donation of $500 per year)
Because of cutbacks in state funding, the need for student financial assistance has never been greater. We’d like to be able to increase our scholarship funding, and we invite you to help us in our efforts. Any amount would be greatly appreciated. Please see our Contribution Form. at right.
Thank you for your support!
