Student Orientation Advising & Registration (SOAR)
The new student orientation program at UW-BSC provides an important opportunity to learn more about your upcoming experiences at UW-Baraboo/Sauk County. The program will provide information regarding advising and registration, campus life, university resources, services, facilities, as well as the opportunity to meet and interact with other students, faculty, and staff. Separate programs are provided for both new freshman and new transfer students.
Fall 2013
All new students will recieve instructions from the Office of Student Services on how to access the Student Orientation. Advising, and Registration program website. This secure website is only accessible to newly admited freshman and will walk them through the process of enrolling for their registration program.
All registration for the student Registration Session will happen online via the website.
Freshman Orientation Program
(For students entering in fall semester)

The transfer student orientation program happens before the start of the semester. Invitations are mailed to all incoming transfer students with the date and start time of the program.
For new freshmen and parents or spouse held a week before the start of the fall term.
In order to support orientation and advising programs for incoming students, the following one-time orientation fees are automatically included in the first semester tuition & fees for the following categories of students:
New Freshmen: $135
Transfer Students: $50
Registration for classes at UW-Baraboo/Sauk County occurs for each semester according to a priority based upon the number of credits previously earned, including officially evaluated transfer credits.
Advance registration for continuing, transfer, and reentry students usually begins on the second Wednesday of April for the fall semester and the second Wednesday of November for the spring semester. Continuing students receive an enrollment "appointment time" which indicates when they are eligible to begin registering for classes.
