How do I find an article?
If you already know which article you want, search the catalog for the journal title to find out if we own it or use Citation Linker. If you do not yet have specific information about articles, start with a periodical index for your subject area. You can browse a complete list or by subject. More information

All journals which the UW Colleges own, whether in print or on microform, can be found through the catalog. If you want to find an online journal, consult the A-Z list.
How do I find articles that aren't available in full-text online?
You should not have to pay for any articles you find. If an article is not full text within a database look for the Button. Clicking this button will search to see if the article is full text in another resource or you can request it via Interlibrary Loan. You will need the ID# from the front of your WisCard to make a request. It takes about a week perhaps less if it's a widely owned publication.
How do I figure out which database to use?
In addition to the A-Z list of databases, there are resources listed by subjects and course guides for individual courses. These are a good starting point for e-resources. More information
