Area residents are welcome to use the UW Baraboo/Sauk County Library. Not only are you welcom to research, browse and use materials here, but you also have CIRCULATION PRIVILEGES! You may check out all circulating materials for the standard loan periods. (Please consult the Library Circulation Policies for community members.)
How do you get a "library card" in order to check out items?
Upon presentation of a driver's license or other valid Wisconsin I.D. showing current address, individuals who are 18 years or older may register for a free borrower card. We will take your name, I.D. number, address and phone number to enter into our patron database. We will have you sign a borrower card and laminate it for you. Upon subsequent visits, simply present your borrower card in order to check out additional items.
What else should you know about the library privileges?
The standard loan periods and fine policies apply to community borrowers. Please become familiar with the policies. (Please consult the Library Circulation Policies for community members.)
To renew a loan (one time per item), please stop by or call the library at 608-355-5251.
We are not able to offer interlibrary loan (ILL) services to community borrowers. Our ILL services are limited to current UW-Baraboo/Sauk County students, faculty, and staff. You may obtain ILL services at your local public library, which has access to all the same materials via ILL that we do.
Please ask for assistance whenever we can be of help. Library staff members are here to assist.
